When English students ask Emma for career advice, she invariably advises they keep their bartending skills sharp Since studying writing and serving as News Editor for The Connector at UMass Lowell, Emma has been employed in bartending, sales, child care, loss prevention, building contracting, tailoring, graphic arts, consumer advocacy, arbitrating and most recently, risk management. Her various vocations have been fueled more by an intense desire to keep learning and experience life to the fullest than by a lack of success at what she tackles. Only in the past few years has she found time to venture back to her first love, writing, with the creation of her online personality, LilPecan, the social media rodent. When not pecking away at her keyboard, Emma can be found studying for her umpteenth career, this time, as a Financial Advisor.
